Anichebeis ready to play for Nigeria

Having explained his absence from Nigeria’s squad at the weekend, Everton Anichebe, 19, has confirmed his commitment to the countrey and is in line for a call-up for the African Cup of Nations squad next month.
Anichebe clarified that his absence from the latest Nigeria squad had nothing to do with switching allegiances to England, and everything to do with a painful hand injury that has been troubling him.
Anichebe, 19, has not yet appeared for England or Nigeria, and could play for either.
But he says he has opted for the Super Eagles and that it is an honour to have the opportunity to represent Nigeria.
However, Anichebe's fellow Everton striker, Yakubu is thought to be unlikely to accept an invitation to join Nigeria's squad for African Cup of Nations next month.
