Al-Ahly's Bakarat Out For A Month
Al-Ahly will be without Mohamed Bakarat for the next month, with the midfielder also a slight doubt for African Nations Cup duty in January.
The 30-year-old international is 90% likely to be ready to take part in the Ghana-based tournament with the Egyptian national side, although he'll undergo a fitness test on January 10th to make sure. In the meantime, though, the Cairo outfit will rue his absence as Bakarat prepares to sit out three Egyptian League games. The table-topping Red Devils will look to preserve their unbeaten record as they face Al-Gaish, Baladeya and Suez Cement over the coming weeks. For Egypt coach Hassan Shehata, though, Bakarat's injury could prove a major disappointment. "We cannot afford more losses in our squad," he told MTNfootball.com. Star striker Mido has already been ruled out of the Cup of Nations, which Egypt enter as defending champions. source:goal.com |
