GFA President Tells Ghana Exiles To Be Patient
Earlier in the week, the Holland-based duo of Defenderof Francis Dickoh and midfielder Matthew Amoah told reporters that they are seriously considering quitting their international careers after they were excluded from the Black Stars' final squad.
Speaking with Ghanaian sports website ghanasoccernet.com, GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi said it would be premature for any of the decamped players to end their international career, stressing that nobody had a permanent shirt in the team and that current outcasts will get their chance to represent the country soon. ''They have a chance next time since we are looking at current form now,'' he told the website. ''They are not in the team today but they may be in the team tomorrow, so nobody should get angry because nobody has a permanent position in the Black Stars. It is for the best players in Ghana at a particular point in time,'' he added The Black Stars of Ghana will on Sunday engage the Syli Stars of Guinea in the opening match of the 26th African Cup of Nations at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra. source:goal.com |
