Trio up for African award

Didier Drogba, Michael Essien and Samuel Eto'o have been nominated for the 2006 African Player of the Year award.
Chelsea duo Drogba and Essien have enjoyed fine years for club and country in the last 12 months.
Essien impressed at the World Cup with Ghana, helping them reach the second round, while Drogba captained Ivory Coast at the finals.
Eto'o, who has won the award for the last three years, helped Barcelona win the Spanish championship and UEFA Champions League last year.
The three finalists are the same trio who battled for the award in 2005.
