Galaxy: Beckham's Premiership Return Not On
There have been reports that David Beckham is keen on a return to England during the MLS off season.
The American season starts in April, and a few Premiership clubs have expressed an interest in taking the former England skipper on loan until then. However, Galaxy insist they want their star player to rest and recuperate, particularly after not having had a break in 18 months. “It will never happen, David is our property," declared LA Galaxy owner Tim Leiweke. "For David to play in England in the off-season is not in his best interests or ours. “He needs rest. We have to be careful he doesn’t get injured again.” Beckham is back in the England squad after playing 73 minutes for Galaxy against Minnesota, and also setting up a goal. source:goal.com |
