D.C. United Snap Up Tiny Argentine Niell

While Argentinos Juniors returned to training looking ahead to the beginning of the Clausura Championship, the club confirmed that Franco Niell will be leaving for D.C. United of the United States.
Nestor Gorosito will have to do without the services of the highly-rated striker, who made his First Division debut with Argentinos Juniors back in 2004.
It is yet to be known whether Niell will be able to adapt to life in MLS, particularly because at only 1.62 metres tall, he was the smallest player in the Argentine local competition last season.
Niell was loaned out to D.C. United for only $60,000 and will team up with former Independiente player Cristian Gomez.
While Matias Cordoba, another Argentine, will join Real Salt Lake City, who already have former Argentinos defender Matias Mantilla among their ranks.
