Villarreal Sign Rubén From River
The Argentinian outfit agreed to the transfer after the Yellow Submarine agreed to allow them to maintain a 15 per cent stake in the player.
Rubén has failed to win a regular place in the River team this term under Diego Simeone and jumped at the chance to move to Europe. ""I have spoken to Rubén for a few minutes and He delighted about the prospect of playing for Villarreal," River executive Rodolfo Cuiña told La Red radio station. The 22-year-old joined Los Millonarios from Rosario Central in 2006 in a deal that saw him exchanged for money and two players. After scoring his way to prominence with sevben goals in 17 games for Rosario, he only managed seven goals in 36 official games for River. Despite that Rubén was recently picked for the Argentina squad to play against Guatemala next month in a pre-Olympic tournament encounter. The sale is the second major transfer that River have allowed this month after midfielder Fernando Belluschi was sold to Olymiacos for €6.9m. Source:goal.com |
