The Nigerian, who has been the most prolific and consistent goalscorer in Indian football over the past three seasons, will join Ireland’s leading club Bohemians in June 2008 when his present contract expires.
Ranti’s said in a statement that a deep sense of gratitude to Dempo was the principal reason behind his decision to see out his contract:
“I spoke to the club and they told me that if I left now it would cause them big problems.
"They gave me my first real chance in football and I’ll never forget that. I will always be grateful to them for that and so when they asked me to stay I couldn’t say ‘no’. I love the club, the people here, and the fans – I owe them all this much.”
The new I-League is scheduled to kick-off in November.
