The West Asians have been drawn in ‘The Group of Death’ along with Australia, China and Qatar.
“We have a difficult task; our group is simply hard to tackle because all four nations have a reasonably equal chance to finish in the top two,” Iraq FA Vice-President Najeh Hammoud told reporters.
“What really counts now is go arrange a very good preparations schedule ahead of the qualifiers.
“Over the last couple of years, the national team has showed character and personality when it was needed most. We have to demonstrate that again,”concluded Hammoud.
