Fans Losing Laith In Iranian Football.

It beggars belief how certain members of the Iranian Football Federation's (IFF) Transitory Committee have allowed infighting and lack of experience at this level to have a negative impact on the search for the new coach.
It appears that certain individuals on the committee are unaware that their mismanagement and hesitation in decision making is affecting a national team that belongs to 70 million Iranians.
Footballmedia.net and IranSportspress.com (ISP), have been made aware by sources close to members of the Transitory Committee that the following coaches have been approached over the past few weeks: Martin Jol, Javier Clemente, Graeme Souness, Rudi Krol, Roy Hodgson, Daniel Passarella, and Peter Reid.
Each one of these managers initially showed an interest in becoming the next Iran coach, but one by one they decided to withdraw from the running due to the current political situation in Iran.
Another high profile coach, Giovanni Trapattoni, also showed interest in the job last week, but he eventually decided to withdraw as the Transitory Committee started showing signs of hesitation due to disagreement between members of the committee.
At a time when Team Melli should be preparing itself for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers in February, we are still far away from appointing a new coach.
Members of the Transitory Committee know very well that in the current political environment, it is hard to convince a very good foreign coach to come to Iran, so they need to act quickly when there is an opportunity to attract a big name such as Trapattoni.
It is time for them to put aside their differences and/or agendas, and maybe for once, put Team Melli as the top priority.
