The highly-rated striker kneed and elbowed Daniel Bennett during the Singapore Cup Final last month and then when the Singapore Armed Forces man was lying on the floor, Alam Shah kneed him in the head.
As well as the 12-month ban, the striker was fined $1,400.
"The ban means he cannot play any domestic matches at all, but he is free to play for the national team if the coach chooses to play him," an official of the Singapore FA told reporters.
Singapore continue their quest to qualify for the 2010 World Cup in February and have been drawn in Group Four with Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Uzbekistan.
