UAE: Stuttgart And Internacional Do Battle
Both sides will go into the match with a common aim – rebuilding from their slump in form.
Stuttgart, the Bundesliga defending champions, are currently lying in eighth in the standings. And, their Champions League campaign has been dismal. They only claimed a 3-2 win over Scottish outfit Rangers. Stuttgart are currently based in the UAE for training - with the German league entering its winter break. For Internacional, their 2007 season has been disappointing. After beating Barcelona to the Club World Cup and winning the Copa Libertadores in 2006, they finished 11th in the Brazilian First Division. Internacional skipper, Fernandao, said the team has not regained full match fitness yet. However, he acknowledged that the game will be good match practice. "It's not the best moment for our team because we have had just one week of training but we will take on those teams fiercely and it will be great practice for us," he said. source:goal.com |
