Cho On Trial At Pompey
His move to Newcastle may not have materialized.
But, Cho Jae-jin could still play in the English Premiership, if he does enough to impress Pompey boss Harry Redknapp. The South Korea international has decided not to renew his contract with J.League side Shimuzu S-Pulse. Cho and his agent have been in England to try secure a move to English football. He scored 34 goals in 79 appearances for Shimuzu. The Magpies were initially interested. However, they pulled out of the deal at the last minute. The 26-year-old has been linked with moves to Fulham or West Ham. Yet, it’s Portsmouth which have made the approach for him. Cho could join Danish striker Adda Djeziri at Portsmouth – if they offer him a permanent deal at the club. The young Danish striker impressed Redknapp and has been offered permanent terms at Pompey. Djeziri was on loan at Championship side Leicester from Boldklubben Frem, but did not feature for The Foxes. The forward was also with Glasgow Rangers last year. But, the Scottish Premier League outfit decided not to pay the £125,000 transfer fee to make his move permanent. source:goal.com |
