Iran Still In Hunt For A Foreign Coach
Iran has been without a coach since the end of the 2007 Asian Cup last July and with the third round of the World Cup qualifiers fast approaching, time is of the essence.
Aziz Mohammadi, Kafashian's second deputy in charge, stated: "IFF is going to hold further meetings with other IPL coaches and the result of consultations will be announced." He clarified: "In this session, we discussed the possibility of both an Iranian and a foreign coach for Iran National team and we have both options into consideration and we are not in rush." Ali Kafashian however, while supporting Iranian coaches, revealed the result of Monday's session in which all parties agreed on a foreign coach for Iran National team. "If the Iranian team needs improvement, we will do so with the agreement of (acting boss) Mansour Ebrahimzadeh. If the decision is taken by then, a foreign coach will guide Iran National team on February 6th for Iran's World Cup Qualifying opening game against Syria "Otherwise, Mansour Ebrahimzadeh will be manage the team until a decision is reached but we will try our best to appoint a head coach prior to February 6th." source:goal.com |
