Thais Hopeful Of Causing An Upset

The south-east Asian nation proved during the 2007 Asian Cup that they can hold their own at home and now they intend to show what they can do away –even in the sub-zero temperatures of Saitama.
"The Japanese players are brilliant, and some of them are among the best in Asia," Thai coach Chanvit Phalajivin told reporters.
"But we are in good physical condition, and I think we can put up a fight as a team.
"The fans could be in for a surprise. When I was coach of [Thai club team] Farmers Bank, no one gave me a chance. But we wound up winning the championship twice. The same thing could happen on Wednesday."
