Qatar Coach Fossati Wants Australian Revenge
Fossati was in charge of Uruguay in November 2005 when they were defeated by Australia in the World Cup play-off berth in a penalty shootout in Sydney. He wants revenge.
"The last time I coached a national team, it was with my country Uruguay and I lost," Fossati told Reuters. "Now I'm back to Australia but with a different team, a different dream and I think God gave me this chance to take my revenge on the Australians. Who knows? Maybe I will do it this time." Fossati knows that it will be tough at the home of the group favourites. "I think Australia will play with their European players... even if they didn't it's the same to me," he said. "We know that we are facing a very tough group but we are optimistic that we can qualify to the fourth round. We have young players, we also have players with experience so with this combination I think we will succeed." source:goal.com |
