Sterjovski Move Completed At Derby
Rams manager Paul Jewell received the good news from the Home Office, after he attended the hearing in London on Wednesday.
His work permit application was initially turned down – despite earning 33 caps for the Socceroos. The authorities deemed that he did not play enough games over the last 12 months to guarantee a work permit under Home Office regulations. Jewell, however, decided to appeal the decision in order to secure Sterjovski from Turkish club Genclerbirligi. The Derby boss expressed his delight with the outcome. He said: "I am delighted with the decision, although we always felt we had a strong case."Mile is an international player with Champions League and World Cup experience. He will make a fantastic addition to the squad." Derby now have to wait for international clearance and are hopeful of receiving it by noon on Friday – which will enable Sterjovski to feature against Preston in the FA Cup on Saturday. Sterjovski, who can operate as a right winger or striker, inked an 18-month deal with the Rams last month. source:goal.com |
