Alan Hutton does not want to leave Rangers for Tottenham.
He has already rejected Spurs' advances once. But Tottenham have come back with an increased offer for Hutton said to include wages of around £28,000 a week.
Hutton is stil not interested, and the Carling Cup finalists were said last night said to be losing patience with the player and to be ready to abandon the deal. Hutton is understood to have changed his agent during the haggling, adding a further complication. But the full-back has apparently stressed to Rangers that, for personal and family reasons, he does not want to go to London. His partner is due to give birth to their second child in three months’ time. Rangers are keen for the deal to go ahead, as quickly as possible. Chairman Sir David Murray has even let Hutton know that he will receive a substantial financial windfall if he agrees to move to White Hart Lane. Agents working on behalf of Tottenham confirmed on Wednesday night that the North London club had gone back to Hutton with an increased offer in personal terms, but that the club were now ready to abandon their attempts to lure Hutton south of the border. source:goal.com |
