When Michael Dawson got home after Tottenham's 5-1 victory over Arsenal on Tuesday night, the Spurs defender switched on the television and relived the memorable moments of the game all over again with his family.

Dawson told the ofdicial Spurs website: “It’s the stuff dreams are made of. I got home, watched the game again with my family, and I couldn’t sleep! I was thinking about going to Wembley and what a day it will be.

“It was a fantastic night, but although we’re over the moon, we’ve got to go to Wembley and put on a performance.”

Dawson also paid tribute to the performance of the Tottenham fans at White Hart Lane on Tuesday - and is delighted that bthe players repaid them with a cup final.

“The fans were fantastic and we couldn’t have asked for any more," he enthused. "It definitely helped us on the pitch.

“Before the game I kept hearing about how long it had been since we’d beaten Arsenal, so what a time to do it!

“Before the game, all the lads knew how close we were to achieving what all footballers want in the game – to play in big games like that and the final.”
