France defender Pascal Chimbonda has stunned Spurs boss Juande Ramos by saying he wants to leave.
The former Wigan man, who infamously handed in a transfer request at the JJB Stadium just minutes after the final whistle on the last day of the 2005/06 season, now wants to join Kevin Keegan's revolution at Newcastle.
And Chimbonda allegedly doesn't care about February's Carling Cup: all he wants is the money, and the Magpies are prepared to offer far more.
Ramos has already admitted that the player could leave, and Aston Villa had been linked with a swoop.
Nightclub 'Incident'
But the 28-year-old defender supposedly bragged to friends in a club on Tuesday night, where he was out celebrating the 5-1 win over Arsenal, that he was now Tyneside-bound.
"Kevin Keegan has approached me and they’ve offered me more money. I am definitely leaving Spurs," Chimbonda reportedly boasted. "It’s all about the money. I don’t care about the final, I don’t care about the cup.”
