Neville:"The defeat hurt but we can’t be negative,"

One of the biggest matches in the recent history of Everton FC ended in heartbreak on Wednesday as they were defeated 1-0 by Chelsea at Goodison Park and thus eliminated from the Carling Cup at the semi-final stage.
But with the Toffees still fourth in the Premier League and doing well in the Europe, Phil Neville has told his teammates to stay strong and use Wednesday's setback as motivation to achieve in the future.
“I said in the dressing room after the game this isn’t the end, this is the beginning," said the former United man.
"The beginning of playing games like this, where the pressure is really on and making sure we enjoy it. We’ve still got fourth place to play for and the Uefa Cup, so let’s make it a great end to the season and not wallow in defeat.
"The defeat hurt but we can’t be negative," he continued. "We have to take all the positives out of this Carling Cup run. Teams are respecting us more now and we have everything still to play for. We have Tottenham and Blackburn coming up next week, which are two massive games.”
