Chimbonda To Depart In Summer
Amongst all the delight at lifting their first trophy for nine years, many Spurs fans will have forgotten about the sorry scene witnessed earlier in the game when defender Pascal Chimbonda was substituted. But Spurs' management, it seems, have not.
The Frenchman stormed down the Wembley tunnel on Sunday having been substituted out of the Carling Cup final, and refused to shake the hand of his replacement, Tom Huddlestone, or acknowledge the coaching stuff. Annoyed “I was annoyed at being taken off in such an important match," explained the Frenchman afterwards. "But the manager has explained his reasons and I have apologised to my team-mates for my behaviour. They understand and everything is fine.” On Yer Bike Fine until the summer, at least. For it is being reported that Juande Ramos and the rest of the coaching staff have finally lost patience with the former Wigan Athletic man, who has attracted attention for the wrong reasons several times since moving to England and is considered by certain Spurs fans to have a poor attitude. It was thought that a deal with Aston Villa for the Frenchman was close to being completed in January after Ramos bought Rangers right-back Alan Hutton, but one way or another it seems likely that Chimbonda will leave White Hart Lane in the summer. source:goal.com |
