But speaking of the competition for the Golden Boot, Adebayor insisted he was confident the boot would be his - because Ronaldo's not a forward.

"I am a striker and cannot let myself be dominated by one midfielder," said the Arsenal player. “I just want to prove I can score more goals.”

He also revealed his desire of reaching 30 goals for the season, promising to dedicate any such achievement to a former Gunners striker. "If I can get to 30 it will be for Thierry (Henry) because he believed I could do it," he told Arsenal TV Online.

Arsenal take on Middlesbrough at the Emirates on Saturday as they look to avenge their only league defeat of the season so far.
