Chelsea Suffer Injury Blows

Peter Cech was supposed to feature in tonight’s Champions League clash against Fenerbahce. But he was rushed to the hospital after an accidental collision with his team mate Tal Ben-Haim’s. His face was badly injured and he needed around 50 stitches in a gashed face and cosmetic surgery.
Revealing about the injury Chelsea website read: “Peter Cech underwent surgery yesterday following a training ground accident which left him with lacerations to his lip and chin. Petr will begin his rehabilitation immediately and we hope to have him back playing as soon as possible.”
Czech international stopper was out of action since March due to an ankle injury which he suffered during training. He also wears a rugby style skull cap following the fractured skull he suffered at Reading 18 months ago.
Speaking to The Sun Avram Grant said: “He has been more than a little bit unlucky this year already. Now he is injured and out again.
“It was just a tackle between two players. It does not matter who he collided with — what matters is that he is injured again, unfortunately.
“This year has not been a good year for him. It’s his third injury and it’s even more unfortunate because he was looking so good in training.”
Chelsea suffered another injury blow when Michael Essien limped out of the pitch during training with a suspected back injury and he will undergo a fitness test today.
Mean while Kazim-Richards, who netted the first goal against Chelsea in 2-1 win, has revealed why its so important to win against Chelsea.
The Sun reported him saying “For me, it’s a bit personal being an Arsenal fan. The fact that it’s Chelsea makes it special for me. We are coming here to win.”
