Arrogant England Were Expecting To Cruise - Bilic
England could find themselves out of the European Championships today, for all practical purposes, and Bilic has joined Russia coach Guus Hiddink in rubbing it in.
“Maybe your approach was just a bit too self-confident," he told the English media ahead of the game against Macedonia. “It is not easy to come to Croatia and to get something from a game. “It’s not easy to play in Russia or easy to play Macedonia. And it’s very difficult to play in Tel Aviv. "So maybe England were expecting to cruise the group but it’s a very difficult group.” He did have some sympathy for Steve McClaren, though: “As a club manager you need a couple of years to make or build a team. “In a national team you need three or four because you do not have them every day. You have them once a month for five days. “It’s not Steve McClaren’s fault. I really feel for him.” SOURCE:GOAL.COM |
