Mourinho To England: Come And Get Me
José Mourinho has announced that he is now prepared to hold talks with the Football Association about taking over from Steve McClaren as the new England boss.
The Portuguese has been out of work since walking away from Chelsea in October, and has been singled out by fans as the favourite to take over England's national side. With the hunt for the next Three Lions coach set to begin next week, Mourinho has performed an incredible U-turn by suggesting that he would be interested in the position afterall. "You will have to speak to the FA to see if they are interested in offering me the job," the former Porto boss told The Sun. "I cannot say what I think until they say they are interested. "Tell the FA to come and get me. We will have to wait and see, but I rule nothing out," continued Mourinho, who earlier had claimed that international management wasn't something he'd be interested in until the end of his career. Upon hearing the news, one leading bookmaker cut Mourinho's odds of getting the job to just 2/1, making him the clear favourite, while others have gone yet further by refusing to take any more bets on the Special One. source:goal.com |
