Hertha Berlin Struggle To Hang On To Marko Pantelic
The Serbian striker has been in top form again at the start of the current Bundesliga campaign scoring seven goals. This form has been duly noted by top clubs and a number of them have made enquiries to the player’s agent.
“I’ve had contact from West Ham and Fulham- they have confirmed their interest” said his advisor Marc Schermann. “It was the same in the summer with Chelsea, Villarreal and Lens. I’ll take their interest and tell the club. That’s what I agreed with Dieter Hoeneß. “Marko will be making a decision about his long-term future in the next few months” he added. An improved contract offer from Hertha may sway him to stay in Berlin, although he is reportedly unhappy with his current pay deal. He apparently earns around €1.5 million per season, which makes him by no means the club’s highest earner. Arne Friedrich is reportedly on €3.5 million, while Josip Simunic earns €2.5 million. If West Ham or Fulham are prepared to offer the right wage, Hertha will have a real fight on their hands to keep the prolific marksman. source:goal.com |
