Zidan Going Nowhere

Despite being a bit-part player behind Ivica Olic and Paolo Guerero so far this season, the Egyptian is determined to stay and fight for his place in Huub Stevens side.
Zidan has hardly set the Bundesliga alight with HSV with only one goal in thirteen appearances and has not fully settled at the club.
“The integrations process is not complete yet” admitted HSV Sporting director Dietmar Beiersdorfer.
“We will strive to improve things on his return from the African Cup of Nations, so that he can recapture his previous top form.
There is a role model for Zidan to follow as Peruvian Paolo Guerero had similar problems on his arrival from Bayern Munich and needed a year to settle in Hamburg.
“Paolo is a good example. We’ve had to learn that some players need time to adapt” he explained.
Zidan will also be given time next season when a new trainer arrives to succeed the outgoing Huub Stevens.
“There’s no question of us letting him go” Beiersdorfer added.
The striker is currently away with his national side preparing for the African Cup of Nations.
