Benaglio To Replace Simon Jentzsch At Wolfsburg

Benaglio was presented to the media on Tuesday after completing his transfer from Portuguese side Nacional Funchal.
The Swiss international keeper joins up with Magath for a second time after previously playing under him while the two were together at Stuttgart.
The negotiations were protracted due to the fact that Magath was unprepared to pay the fee demanded by the Portuguese club (reported as €2 million).
He even looked into the possibility of bringing in either Timo Hildebrand or Jens Lehmann.
Benaglio however, is relieved that the move has finally materialised.
“I’m glad to be back in the Bundesliga” he admitted.
“It was very important for me to know that the trainer really wanted me” he added.
