Roque Junior Hands MSV Duisburg A Blow By Quitting

Brazilian World Cup winner Roque Junior has thrown in the towel at MSV Duisburg and vowed to return home.
The former Bayer Leverkusen man was picked up as a free agent halfway through the first part of the season, but despite putting in some impressive displays he says he's no longer able to cope with the strains of European football.
The 31-year-old has a contract with the Zebras until the end of this season, but he will not appear in the blue and white shirt anymore.
Roque Junior shared his decision with a shocked chairman Walter Hellmich and coach Rudi Bommer after reporting for training following the winter break.
Decision Final
Duisburg's new sporting director, Bruno Hübner, is trying to get the Brazilian to change his mind, but it seems a lost cause. "My physical fitness hasn't improved and I no longer see myself as being mentally fit enough to do well in the Bundesliga," the defender said. "My decision is final - I'm going back to Brazil with my family."
Fear Of Failure?
Yet other reports are claiming that Roque Junior has become disillusioned with the club and his teammates. The Zebras are bottom of the Bundesliga and red hot favourites for relegation.
It has been suggested that having spent a few weeks with the squad the Brazilian saw no hope of survival and wanted out before he suffered the humiliation of relegation.
Duisburg are looking at Hannover veteran Dariusz Zuraw to plug the gap in central defence
