Ex-Japan international Shinji Ono Shines On VfL Bochum Debut
After he was unveiled on Wednesday, the former Urawa Reds player vowed to do his best for the German Bundesliga outfit.
And, Ono showed his injury-filled days are behind him as he created both goals as Bochum claimed a surprise 2-1 win over Bremen. Bremen took the lead through Denmark international Daniel Jensen a minute before half time. Ono, however, turned the tide for the visitors after coming off the bench. He threaded a through pass to Benjamin Auer for him to level scores for Bochum in the 68th minute. The hosts were reduced to 10 men when Naldo was given his marching orders. And Bochum capitalised on their numerical advantage as the forwards piled on the pressure. Anthar Yahia scored the winner for Bochum as he headed home from Ono’s corner six minutes from time. source:goal.com |
