Meyer: We're Asking For Trouble
Nuremberg slumped further into the relegation on Saturday after an emphatic 2-0 defeat at high-flying Karlsruher FC.
The Bavarian side lacked ideas throughout, with Czech striker Jan Koller's solid debut the only positive FCN could take from the match. Nuremberg had a solid run of form in friendly games prior to the league's re-start, but player Marco Engelhardt demanded the team buck up their ideas when it matters. "Karlsruhe showed us how it should be done," he commented of the game, in which Nuremberg were largely anonymous apart from a few defensive calamities. "They haven't got any superstar players but they stand together compactly as a team." Meyer: We're Asking For Trouble Boss Hans Meyer had stronger words for his squad, however, telling them to shape up or face relegation. "Everyone knows that we're in trouble now," he warned. "The whole team aren't defending well, they haven't been for months. If we lose our home games to (relegation rivals) Rostock and Cottbus, we're going down." source:goal.com |
