India Ready To Climb Mountain Against Lebanon

After the washout in Chennai, the game will take place in Goa on Tuesday. Indian skipper Bhaichung Bhutia has admitted that Lebanon will have an advantage as the hosts wanted the fixture to be played on Sunday itself.
“They had undertaken a long journey and would have been tired. With the postponement, they have had time to recover”. India are still without the services of Renedy Singh and N.S.Manju due to an ankle injury and fever respectively. K.Ajayan and local Goan boy Samir Naik will take the field.
The Nehru Cup winners face an uphill task as they need to win by a three goal margin after being routed 4-1 in Lebanon earlier this month.
As a result, the Indians are on the lookout for an early goal which will boost their confidence.
Indian coach Bob Houghton is banking on home support in Goa. Speaking to local media Houghton said: “I expect Goans to throng the stadium on Tuesday since four (Clifford Miranda, Mahesh Gawli, Cliamx Lawrence and Samir Naik) of their local favorites will be there firing on all cylinders.”
India can look to bank on the Goan atmosphere which is relatively hot and humid. Mahindra coach Derrick Periera had earlier said: "If Goa or Delhi had been selected for the match against Lebanon, India could have made the most of the humid conditions.”
The Goan coach pointed that when Mahindra’s played against several foreign teams in Goa most of them do get tired in the second half and “we made the most of it”.
Starting XI India: Subrata Paul (gk), Surkumar Singh, Mahesh Gawli, Gourmangi Singh, Samir Naik, Steven Dias, Climax Lawrence, N.P. Pradeep, K.Ajayan, Sunil Chhetri and Bhaichung Bhutia(capt).
