Mohun Bagan Win Kolkata League

The Mariners defeated Peerless F.C. 2-0 with goals coming from youngster P.C.Lalawmpuia and skipper Bhaichung Bhutia.
The Kolkata giants have 33 points with a round of matches still to go while the nearest rivals East Bengal are on 25 points though having a game in hand.
The green and maroon brigade attacked from the word go but were guilty of squandering chances.
However, the first goal came when Lalawmpuia volleyed the ball past the Peerless custodian after receiving a perfect cross from Habibur Rahman.
The final nail in the Peerless coffin was inserted by Indian national team captain Bhaichung Bhutia in the 66th minute to ensure victory for Bagan.
The fans went wild after the final whistle was blown.
Thereafter, the fireworks followed.
Coach Carlos Pereira has won the KFL for the second successive season after guiding rivals East Bengal to the title last season.
Brazilian striker Barreto dedicated the win to the children of Kolkata as the city celebrated Children’s Day.
