Four Foreigner Request Rejected By Indian FA
Last week, the AIFF announced that for the new I-League, clubs would be able to sign four foreign players instead of three.
Only three could be named in the starting eleven or first-team squad however. Mohun Bagan want all four to be eligible to play. Club Secretary Anjan Mitra told reporters: “We spent lots of money to build a side and if we can’t play the four foreigners then there is no use bringing in the fourth one.” Speaking to local media, the AIFF general-secretary Alberto Colaco replied:” They (Mohun Bagan) have put forward the request very late. It’s too late and things can’t be changed now. “It was decided at the executive committee meeting and this was a decision taken after discussions with all the clubs in the workshop in Goa.” source:goal.com |
