Mohun Bagan Lose Two In A Row
The Kolkata giants slip to the bottom of the table.
Kerala's two foreign strikers Baba Thunde and Wisdom Abbey combined well and troubled a brittle Bagan defense. The first goal came in the 14th minute when Brazilian defender Douglas D’Silva missed an aerial ball which fell to Wisdom. Seeing Baba Thude’s run, he sent in a square pass for the striker to tap in. The second came ten minutes later thanks to some criminal mistakes by the goalkeeper Shilton Paul and defender Peter Odafa. The Bagan custodian passed the ball to Odafa but it never got there as striker Wisdom Abbey latched on to the ball and his low shot made it 2-0. In the 68th minute, substitute Ishfaq Ahmed pulled one back for the home team but it wasn't enough as Wisdom sealed the three points with a late strike - his second of the game. Speaking to local media after the game, Bagan Coach Carlos Pereira said: “I don’t want to point out any single player, the whole team performed poorly. We gave away two goals and missed many chances.” source:Goal.com - Asia - I-League: Mohun Bagan Lose Again |
