Mahindra United end JCT’s winning run
Coming off a 5-1 rout at the hands of Churchill at home, Mahindra United played an all defensive game by packing as many men behind the ball.
JCT failed to create any goalscoring opportunities and their midfield looked wayward as they sent in pointless passes lacking any attacking sting. The first half was boring with play mainly confined to the midfield and the strikers hardly ever touched the ball. The Punjab team looked short on practice and was tired after playing two away games at Kolkata. The next 45 was livelier but a few chances came and went kissing. The final ball was always disappointing on either side. JCT coach Sukhwinder Singh was quoted saying,” We could have performed far better but we did not play to our level.” While, Mahindra United were pleased upon gaining a point away from home which will definitely boost their confidence. Coach Derrick Pereira said, “The boys performed well and we were able to defend nicely.” Final Score : 0-0 source:goal.com |
