Mahindra’s Steven Dias Speaks Ahead Of Crucnh Game Against Salgaocar

The winger believes that his team’s morale his high after some comprehensive victories and that showed in yesterday’s training session. “We’ve prepared very well for the game against Salgaocar. There was a light training session with the coach emphasizing on coordination between players. Everyone was energetic and you could see from their face." Dias also adds that Salgaocar played well in the earlier meeting between the two sides. “Their midfield and strikers made life difficult for us the last time we played in Goa. They have a lot of younger players who run a lot. It’s a do or die situation for them.” On his own side’s performance, Dias was all gaga. “Our performance has been exceptional in the last few games and we could have the won the last against Viva by a big margin had we not squandered the chances that came our way,” said a confident Dias. The Mumbai boy feels that anyone who has written them off from the title race will have to think again. “The results in the last two rounds have opened the league and anyone from the top five can have a go at the title.” However, the Indian national team player expressed his thoughts on the two losses to Churchill Brothers and was honest in opining. “Before both the games against Churchill, we had a plan as to how to confront Odafa and surprisingly, it was he who scored against us. “In the away game, we played well but Odafa scored four much to our horror. Those two games have spoiled our goal average and have been nightmarish.” When asked about his personal form, Dias diplomatically answered, “It’s neither too great, not too bad.” source:goal.com
