The game began and in no time Bagan drew the first blood in the 4th minute courtesy Churchill goalkeeper Vinay Singh. The custodian failed to clear a Mohanraj throw in which saw skipper Bhaichung sprint into the six yard box and volley the ball home. Right back Habibur Rehman who missed the last game due to suspension announced his arrival in style as he netted the second for Bagan and his first in the league. The goalkeeper was again guilty as he firstly awarded a nonexistent corner and failed to position himself for the resultant grounding shot by Habibur off a Bhaichung back-header.
Churchill Brothers did manage to pull one back seven minutes later through Mboyo Iyomi who seems to be on fire when playing against big names. Vashum did the hardwork from the right and found Odafa who got past three defenders to provide Iyomi with a tap in.
The second session saw the home team looking tired and often lost ball possession. Though Churchill Brothers pressed hard in the last 15 minutes but their efforts bore no result as they ended up losing.
