Gianluigi Buffon Extends Contract At Juventus
Last summer there were lot of speculations about Buffons future at Juventus until he extended his contract till 2012. However, Buffon and the club have decided to add one more year to their agreement without any bells or whistles.
He will now been defending the Bianconeri's posts until 2013, when he will be 35 years old. This probably means he will retire as Juventus player. The Italy number one joined the club in the summer of 2001 from Parma for a record transfer fee for a goalkeeper. "I will play with Juventus until I'm 35," he said, "so we will be able to get many more satisfactions. I thank the managers and the fans for the faith and esteem they have in me." Jean-Claud Blanc expressed his satisfaction after having reached this new deal: "With Buffon there is a common vision for the future of Juventus, on the team's objectives and programs. This new agreement is a way to underline our faith in a player who's crucial for our present and for our future." Last edited by voldemort; 03-13-2008 at 11:12 AM. |
