Anichebe Gamble Paid Off - Moyes
The game looked to be headed towards a draw before Anichebe came on for Yakubu15 minutes from time and made a telling impact.
First he won the penalty that Mikel Arteta converted, and then made it 2-0 with a super individual move. Moyes was understandably delighted: "What a way to finish! Victor came on and made such an impact." However, he admitted he was concerned about sending the teenager on given his broken hand. "I was worried about putting him on, because he has a broken hand - but what do I know!" he said. The 19-year-old was wearing a cast on his arm, but did not let it affect his game. On the match itself, Moyes said: "I thought it was a good performance. For long periods, we did quite well." Everton lead group A with six points from two games. source:goal.com |
