Megson Warns Domenech Over Anelka
The Bolton striker has been asked to join the French squad despite not having participated in the last four games for his club due to a hamstring injury.
The former Arsenal front man will be available only by next month after being ruled out for six weeks since the Aston Villa game, which incidentally was Gary Megson’s first as Bolton manager. Megson expects his French counterpart to send Anelka back to the club after an assessment of his injury. “Nicolas has to go we know that, so they can see what state he is in,” said Megson. “He has this tear on his hamstring and the prognosis was six weeks on the sidelines.” So what if the French medical team thinks otherwise? “It would be a huge mistake if they said he had to stay then train and play. It would be a nightmare of Nick and for us,” said a miffed Megson. “We’ve told Nic what we think, which he accepts, but he still has to report for France for them to see him.” source:goal.com |
