Ali Al Habsi (Bolton and Oman)
The giant goalkeeper made a rare appearance as Bolton drew 2-2 at Bayern Munich last week and had a fantastic match on a famous night for the Lancashire club. Normal service was resumed however on Sunday as the former Lyn ‘keeper sat on the bench.
Andranik Teymourian (Bolton and Iran)
A better week for the midfielder who played 13 minutes in Bolton’s excellent 2-2 draw at Bayern Munich last week and he came off the bench after 80 minutes as the Trotters were held to a goalless draw by Middlesbrough.
Sun Jihai (Manchester City and China)
The Chinese star didn’t make the first team squad as City drew 0-0 at Portsmouth.
Lee Chun-soo (Feyenoord and South Korea)
Lee made his first start for Feyenoord and also got his first taste of the “Klasseiker” with Ajax. It was a tough test for Lee as the two teams fought out a 2-2 draw.
Alex Santos (Salzburg and Japan)
Alex didn’t feature as Salzburg drew 1-1 at LASK Linz.
Tsuneyasu Miyamoto (Salzburg and Japan)
Played the full game as Salzburg picked up a point and a 1-1 draw at LASK Linz.
Yasser Hussain (Braga and Qatar)
The former Manchester City player came on for the last 18 minutes when Braga were leading Sporting Lisbon 3-0 and the scoreline stayed that way.
Kim Dong-jin (Zenit St Petersburg and South Korea)
A great weekend for Kim as Zenit clinched the Russian title with a 1-0 win over Saturn Moscow.
Rahman Rezaei (Livorno and Iran)
The veteran defender was on the bench as Livorno picked up a vital three points with a 3-2 win at Siena.
Mehdi Mahdavikia (Eintracht Frankfurt and Iran)
The 2002 Asian Player of the Year returned to action after injury and came off the bench midway through the second half as Frankfurt drew 1-1 at Dortmund – Frankfurt’s fourth game without a win.
Lee Young-pyo (Tottenham and South Korea)
Played the full game as Spurs thrashed Wigan Athletic 4-0
Junichi Inamoto (Eintracht Frankfurt and Japan)
The midfielder came off the bench with 19 minutes remaining but was unable to prevent Borussia Dortmund equalizing to earn a 1-1 draw.
Shunsuke Nakamura (Celtic and Japan)
There was no game for Celtic.
Seol Ki-hyeon (Fulham and South Korea)
The Sniper played no part in Fulham’s 2-0 defeat at Liverpool on Saturday.
Daisuke Matsui (Le Mans and Japan)
A rare non-appearane for the midfielder as Le Mans got back to winning ways with a 3-2 home win over St. Ettiene.
Vahid Hashemian (Hannover and Iran)
No minutes for the helicopter as Hannover lost 1-0 thanks to a late Hertha Berlin strike.
Takayuki Morimoto (Catania and Japan)
The teenage striker sat on the bench as his team-mates drew 1-1 at Torino.
Lee Dong-guk (Middlesbrough and South Korea)
The Lion King sat on the bench for the full game as Boro earned a point with a goalless draw at Bolton.
Naohiro Takahara (Eintracht Frankfurt and Japan)
The Sushi Bomber played all of Frankfurt’s 1-1 draw at Borussia Dortmund. The former Boca Juniors frontman had a great late chance to win the game for the visitors but put the ball wide.
Shao Jiayi (Energie Cottbus and China)
The Chinese star is still struggling to make an appearance for Cottbus as the bottom team lost the eastern derby 3-2 at Hansa Rostock.
Javad Nekounam (Osasuna and Iran)
The inspirational midfielder is set to miss most of the season after damaging a cruciate ligament in pre-season training.
Park Ji-sung (Manchester United and South Korea)
Park is back in light training after his knee operation and should be back in action in January.
