Energie Cottbus Held By Chinese Olympic Team
Ratomir Dujkovic's side are currently preparing for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The Serb, however, will be less than impressed with the performance of his charges.
After a dour goalless first-half, China took a 76th minute lead through Dalian Shide forward Zhu Ting, scoring with a header from Wang Xiaolong's cross from the left. With just four minutes left to play, a low drive from Albanian international Ervin Skela gave the German team a late goal as China's substitute goalkeeper Zhang Sipeng failed to hold on to Skela's shot. Energie are on tour in China and will play against the China senior team on Thursday. The Olympic team, meanwhile, will go to France for a training camp in January. They are touring Europe as part of a process designed to secure them a place in the top four teams at the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008. China's games in England, however, have been marred by brawls against the opposition. They made the headlines in February, when they were involved in an embarrassing brawl against Championship side Queens Park Rangers in England. source:goal.com |
