Swedish International Set To Quit Rennes
Swedish international Erik Edman has revealed his intention to seek pastures new at the end of the season having decided not to renew his contract with Ligue 1 outfit Stade Rennais.
"I'm not staying here, that I do know," he told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet on Friday. "My family and I want to find something else," he said. The left-back moved to France in 2005 from English side Tottenham Hotspur, but has failed to settle in the Le Championnat. "I'm ready to take the next step, although that's something I don't really want to talk about right now. But my situation is very positive. "It feels good to be able to decide for myself what I want to do with my life. I haven't been able to do that since I signed my first contract. I've never been a Bosman player before." The 29-year-old, who will probably make Sweden's squad for Euro 2008, has also had spells with Dutch club Heerenveen, German side Karlsuhe and Swedish team Helsingborg. source:goal.com |
