Swedish international Erik Edman has revealed his intention to seek pastures new at the end of the season having decided not to renew his contract with Ligue 1 outfit Stade Rennais.
"I'm not staying here, that I do know," he told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet on Friday. "My family and I want to find something else," he said.
The left-back moved to France in 2005 from English side Tottenham Hotspur, but has failed to settle in the Le Championnat.
"I'm ready to take the next step, although that's something I don't really want to talk about right now. But my situation is very positive.
"It feels good to be able to decide for myself what I want to do with my life. I haven't been able to do that since I signed my first contract. I've never been a Bosman player before."
The 29-year-old, who will probably make Sweden's squad for Euro 2008, has also had spells with Dutch club Heerenveen, German side Karlsuhe and Swedish team Helsingborg.
