Souness Leads The Race To Land Scotland Job
Graeme Souness was being quoted at odds of 5-4 with Ladbrokes on Tuesday to become the next manager of Scotland, but those odds have come in to 4-5.
Of the other candidates believed to be on the Scottish Football Association's short-list, Tommy Burns is quoted at 7-4, Mark McGhee at 9-4 shot, and George Burley is the 4-1 outsider. Meanwhile, the SFA, is understood to be close to revealing who will be Scotland's first opponents for whoeverthey do eventually appoint to replace Alex McLeish. The Scots have a friendly arranged for 26th March, but the match will not be against Argentina or Nigeria and it is unlikely to be against Poland, contrary to some reports. Negotiations to bring Argentina to Hampden Park ran into a snag regarding the fee being demanded by the Albiceleste. source:goal.com |
