Super League Wrap: Iraklis Win Thessalonica Derby
A goal by Lionel Nunez 16 minutes into the game was enough for Olympiacos to xlaim a valuable 1-0 victory over OFI in Iraklis that helped them stay one points behind leaders AEK.
Panathinaikos follow one point further behind as they overcome the barrier of Ergotelis at the Apostolos Nikopolidis Stadium with a narrow 1-0 win thanks to fine strike by Dimitris Salpigidis two minutes before the end of the first half. In Thessalonica’s big derby, which was marred by clashes between supporters of the two clubs, Iraklis secured a 1-0 win over cross-city rivals PAOK. Dimitris Giantsis with a strike from close range after 15 minutes of game handed the hosts the three points. According to reports, two Iraklis fans were stabbed, while police said that around 150 fans from the two Thessalonica clubs were involved in the incidents. Meanwhile, surprise package Asteras Tripolis drew banks with Xanthi at home and moved one point clear of Aris into fourth place. Elsewhere, in a game that saw four red cards Veria beat visiting Larissa 1-0 and moved two points away from the drop zone. Newly-signed Gambia striker Mustapha Kamal N'Daw scored the sole goal on 65 minutes. Finally, with the same score home-side Levadiakos defeated Panionios.
