Jurado Aims For First Eleven Place At Atlético

Jose Manuel Jurado told Radio Marca of his desire to give coach Javier Aguirre a real dilemma.

The attacking midfielder, who can play right across the central line, has to compete with the likes of Simao Sabrosa, Maxi Rodriguez, Jose Antonio Reyes and Luis Garcia for a starting place, but remains confident in his own abilities.

He's put in fine performances against Kayseri Erciyesspor in the UEFA Cup and, while the opposition wasn't up to much, further cemented his credentials with a strike against Sevilla in La Liga this week.

That was his first league goal for the rojiblancos. Subsequently, he told the media, "It was great for the goal to arrive.

"I felt great, and even moreso since it was at the [Vicente] Calderon, which made it a beautiful occasion.

"There's always the chance for a little goal, and I took the time to try it.

"I saw that [Kun] Aguero was at the front post, so I waited behind and tried to put it in at the far post."

And while he was delighted both with the strike and the 4-3 scoreline, he's just as excited with what it might mean for him.

"The strike is good for my morale, and it's a way of saying, 'I'm here,'" he said.

"I'm comfortable both in the middle and on the left, so I'm looking to give the coach a difficult decision to make."

Jurado arrived at Atleti at the beginning of last season from Real Madrid, who still hold a buy-back clause for 31 year old.
