Lahm keen on move to barcelona
Spanish sports daily Marca claims that Philipp Lahm's dream move to Barcelona could come true, but not until next summer at the earliest.
Lahm, who has publicly stated his desire to switch to the Camp Nou, has repeatedly turned down contract extension offers from Bayern Munich, meaning that he'll be all but free to leave in June 2009 on a Bosman ruling. Moving quickly to secure his services, Barcelona have effectively already agreed a contract with Lahm for that date, upon which he'll become a blaugrana player. However, there is still the option of a paid transfer for the 24 year old full-back next summer. Bayern won't let him go in January, but they could be tempted to cut their losses before or after the European Championships. At present, the Bavarian outfit are said to be looking for 15 million euros, which Barcelona feel excessive for a player entering the last year of their deal. However, there may be room for negotiation to bring the German international to Catalunya a year early for a four-year deal. source:source.com |
