Nobody Has Asked Me To Sign Kaká - Calderón
The Real Madrid president did admit that he personally had talked to Kaká, but since then nobody at the Bernabéu had asked whether another move was possible.
Kaká was one of three names that Calderón pledged to buy if he won the presidential elections just under two years ago along with Cesc Fŕbregas and Arjne Robben. "To sign for Real Madrid a name has to go through three filters," Calderón explained. "First the coach talks to the sporting director. "Secondly, it is considered whether the player would fit in with the philosophy of the club and thirdly, the captains are asked whether the player could help the team. "Therefore the answer is no because nobody has fulfilled even the first thing on that list. Neither Schuster nor Mijatovic has come to ma about him. "Neither do I know if the captains think he would be needed. Now we have to think about other things. "What I said was true that I have spoken to Kaká and we could not sign him." As to which players would strengthen the squad in the summer, Calerón was not prepared to speculate in mid-season. "This is not the best time to talk about acquisitions because the current players in the squad would be unsettled and with reason," he added. "At the end of the season we shall see." source:goal.com |
